Repenters and Prodigals

We have been teaching and preaching a lot about faith lately. Even when we go to events outside the church they seem to be always talking about faith. I believe God wants to strengthen our faith for the challenges that lie ahead. Romans 12:3 says that God has dealt to every man the measure of faith, so we have it, we just need to use it, exercise it, and stretch it to full power!

We´re also urging people more and more to respond to the Word by coming to the altar or in some other tangible way. Sunday a young Brazilian woman ¨A¨ came forward to give her life to Jesus. She had been part of a cult called the Universal church. She said, ¨they drained all my money and all my family´s money and left us bankrupt financially, emotionally and spiritually. One of our members chatted with her in the shoe store where she works and urged her to come to church. I spoke firmly but lovingly with her, reminding her that this was not just a prayer, but rather giving one´s life to God and his eternal purposes, without knowing that Patti had just given her the very same speech! Tears rolled down her cheeks as she asked for and received full and free pardon for all offenses past, present and future and invited Jesus to enter her life and be her Savior and Lord.

Wednesday night we started two nights of special meetings with John Steele, a senior leader from the New Life churches of New Zealand. John preached on faith (of course) and had prophetic ministry for everyone who desired it. A brother ¨C¨walked in whom we have not seen for 3 years. Before he wandered God had miraculously healed him from a deadly post operative staph infection. Thursday night a woman ¨A¨ came in with her two daughters. She received the Lord in the church back in its infancy. I baptized her in water and she was well on her way to being fully discipled when her faith walk was derailed due to a large part to some people who tried to split the church. We had not seen them for 4 years. They were all smiles and tears. I was so proud of the church as everyone received them with tenderness, love and affection. Only problem was, nobody wanted to leave. It was about 10:30 when we finally started to flash the lights and herd the excited and happy congregation out into the street.

Thank you for praying for the above mentioned people and for the church in general.
It´s an honor to have you as our friends and coworkers,
Pastor John
