They Called Us Pilgrims

I will never again see the scriptures in the same way.  Our trip to Israel was amazing.  On every turn God was with us affirming us, teaching us, opening up His word to us in such precious ways.  It was wonderful to walk on the mountains that Jesus once walked, to swim in the Sea of Galilee  and walk along its´ shores.  (no, we didn´t walk on water!) We saw the mustard plant and marveled at how extremely tiny the seed actually is...about the size of that period!  and saw the thorns that reminded us of the parable of the sower.  We saw the walls and gates of the city of  Jerusalem and felt the tension of the different cultures and religions trying to live within its´ small area.  There were new smells, new foods.  We were able to see the City of David, walk thru Hezekiah´s tunnel, and pray at the Western  Wall.  It will take a life time to take it all in.  I just hope that as I close my eyes I will always be able to see the Sea of Galilee...one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen and to remember the precious moments we had there with the Lord.  One of my favorite moments was in the garden tomb.  After our tour they prepared a place in the garden where John and I were able to go aside and take communion.  Oh! what a wonderful Lord we serve!  How great is our God!  How very great.
